Dear Taproom Friend & Baird Beer Enthusiast:

Lucky Seven Stout Week will kick-off at the Fishmarket Taproom this Sunday,March 16 and run through Sunday, March 23. The Taproom will be closed as normal on Tuesday, March 18. Thursday, March 20 is a Japan national holiday and thus The Taproom doors will open at noon that day. The highlight of the week will be the simultaneous serving of seven different styles of seasonal Stout in addition to our year-round Irish-style dry stout: Shimaguni Stout. The seasonal stouts to be served are:

1) Mikan Wheat Stout *Debut*
2) Sweet Citrus Stout *Debut*

3) Strawberry Field Milk Stout
4) Morning Coffee Stout
5) Midnight Oil Foreign Export Stout *Debut*
6) Dark Sky Imperial Stout
7) Dark Sky Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout *Debut*

The event will mark the maiden debut of three of these Stouts:

*Mikan Wheat Stout: brewed with over 50% malted wheat and fresh mikans from the Shizuoka family orchards of our friend and Taproom patron Otaki-san.

*Sweet Citrus Stout: a low attenuating sweet stout brewed with fresh
amanatsu summer mikans from our neighbor next door, Otani-san.

*Dark Sky Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout: unlike our Dark Sky Imperial Stout,
this version spent several months conditioning time in an oak barrel before being kraeusened and packaged.

Additionally, Sunday, March 16 will mark the 2008 release of our annual seasonal stout: Midnight Oil Foreign Export Stout.

During the week we will be selling Lucky Seven Stout Week Drink Cards for those of you interested in sampling all of the seasonal Stouts. The card will feature seven punches, one representing each seasonal style of stout. Upon completion, your card will be collected and added to a box for an end-of-the-week raffle. Seven lucky winners will receive the following prizes:

1) Japanese ceramic beer mug donated by the Robert Yellin Yakimono Gallery
2) Japanese ceramic beer mug donated by the Robert Yellin Yakimono Gallery
3) One Baird Beer Nombei Drink Card (pint size)
4) One Baird Beer Nombei Drink Card (glass size)
5) One mixed year-round Baird Beer six-pack (your choice of styles)
6) One set Baird Beer posters (eight A3 size posters -- including the new
Angry Boy Brown Ale)
7) One set Baird Beer logo glasses (one pint, one regular)

We will conduct the drawing on Sunday, March 23 and send out the prizes to the winners the following week. The price of the Lucky Seven Stout Week Drink Card is 3,700 yen (representing a 500 yen discount from ordering each of the beers individually). The card is for glass-size servings (not pint-size).

In addition to the superb lineup of Stouts, The Taproom kitchen will be serving up an unique menu of dishes designed to pair brilliantly with the flavor hallmarks (chocolate, coffee, roasted nuts, toffee, licorice, citrus, berries, etc.) of these special Baird Stouts. Please plan to join us for a jovial week of great Stout, fabulous cuisine and friendly camaraderie!

Cheers!
