Dear Taproom Friend & Baird Beer Enthusiast:
Lucky Seven Stout Week
will kick-off at the Fishmarket Taproom this Saturday, March 17 (St. Patrick's Day). The highlight of the week will be the simultaneous serving of seven different styles of Stout beer. The styles served will be:
1) Shimaguni Stout (Irish-style dry stout) 2) Midnight Oil Foreign Export Stout 3) Dark Sky Imperial Stout 4) Morning Coffee Stout
5) Snow Melt Chocolate Wheat Stout 6) Mama's Milk Stout 7) Lucky Seven Toasted Oatmeal Stout
The event will mark the maiden debut of two of these Stout beers -- Mama's Milk
Stout (a sweet stout brewed with milk sugar - i.e. lactose) and Lucky Seven Toasted Oatmeal Stout (a silky, smooth stout brewed with lightly toasted oatmeal). Also debuting on St. Patrick's Day is
another quintessentially Irish beer: Island Country Irish Red Ale (a richly malty yet light and refreshing brew - ABV 4.0%).
During the week we will be selling Lucky Seven Stout Week Drink Cards
for those of you interested in sampling all of the Stout styles. The card will feature seven punches, one representing each style of stout. Upon completion, your card will be collected and added to a box for an end-of-the-week raffle. Seven lucky winners will receive the following prizes:
1) Japanese ceramic beer mug donated by the Robert Yellin Yakimono Gallery 2) Japanese ceramic beer mug donated by the Robert Yellin Yakimono Gallery
3) One Baird Beer Nombei Drink Card (pint glass size) 4) One set Baird Beer logo glasses (one pint, one regular) 5) One set Baird Beer logo glasses (one pint, one regular)
6) One set Baird Beer posters (eight A3 size posters) 7) One set Baird Beer posters (eight A3 size posters)
We will conduct the drawing on Saturday, March 24 and send out the prizes to the
winners the following week. The price of the Lucky Seven Stout Week Drink Card is 3,500 yen (representing a 300 yen discount from ordering each of the beers individually). The card is for glass-size
servings (not pint-size).
In addition to the superb lineup of Stout beers, The Taproom kitchen will be coming up with several original dessert items designed to pair brilliantly with the flavor hallmarks
(chocolate, coffee, roasted nuts, toffee, etc.) of stout beer. Please plan to join us for a jovial week of Stout beer, food and camaraderie!
Remainder: The Taproom is closed on Tuesdays and it
will be thus closed on Tuesday, March 20. Wednesday, March 21 is a Japan National Holiday and thus The Taproom will open at noon on this day.
Cheers!
Bryan Baird
