Spring Seasonal Baird Beer Releases; Taproom Golden Week Hours

The spring season is in its full glory now and Baird Beer is celebrating
with the release of two new seasonal brews: Four Sisters Spring Bock and 60-Shilling Ale.

(1) Four Sisters Spring Bock (ABV approximately 6.0%):

Baird Four Sisters Spring Bock is brewed in the spirit of a German Maibock (an unique golden color bock generally released in the spring season). Four Sisters, however, harkens back to a time before the general association of bock beer with the city of Munich. Its inspiration is the beer brewed in the city of Einbeck beginning in the 13th century. This beer was noted for its refreshing palatability and wholesomeness. It was said to be brewed with one-third wheat and two-thirds barley, hence the light, zesty feel for an otherwise fairly substantial brew.

Four Sisters Spring Bock sports a deep copper-gold color and enjoys a
brilliance of clarity unique for an unfiltered, secondarily fermented lager.
In the nose, the subtly sweet floral aroma of Sterling hops wafts pleasantly. In the mouth, a rich malty flavor will introduce itself before
quickly giving way to an extremely smooth, dry finish in which a hint of
honeyed-malt flavor will linger.

(2) Sixty-Shilling Ale (ABV approximately 3.6%):

This is a classic Scottish-style Heavy Ale that has been fermented long and cool to lend it an especially smooth and clean malty flavor. As if to
underscore the fluidity of semantics over time and place, Sixty-Shilling Ale is anything but "heavy." It is a perfect, low-impact spring session beer meant to nourish both body and spirit.

Both of these spring seasonal beers are now being served at the Fishmarket Taproom in Numazu. Both also will be available on draught and in bottle-conditioned form at Baird Beer retailers throughout Japan.
