July 2007 marks the 7-year birthday of the Fishmarket Taproom. Thanks to the enduringly strong patronage of the beer enthusiast community, The Taproom has managed to continuously grow and improve. We
will be commemorating the seven years of good beer, food and camaraderie at The Taproom over the upcoming three-day holiday weekend (Saturday, July 14 - Monday, July 16). Each of these days The Taproom will
open at noon and close at midnight. The theme of each beer fest day will differ. The details follow:
Taproom 7-Year Anniversary Summer Beer Fest
(1) Saturday, July 14 (Taproom Birthday Celebration) - Debut of Taproom 7-Year Ale (a first-ever Belgian-style Strong Golden
Ale) - 500 yen pints and 400 yen glass-size servings of all brands all day (Saturday only) - Sumptuous all-you-want buffet of beer-inspired cuisine (1,000 yen per person)
- Live acoustic Celtic music (1:00 - 5:00 pm) - Yakitori grill outside in front of The Taproom -- 100 yen per stick (3:00 - 7:00 pm)
(2) Sunday, July 15 (Festival of Long-Maturation Beers)
- The following five beers that have been conditioned for a minimum of seven months post-packaging will be featured: * Ganko Oyaji Barley Wine (packaged 9/14/2006) * Oktoberfest Lager (packaged 9/21/2006)
* Cool Breeze Pils (packaged 6/30/2006); Also Cool Breeze Pils 2007
(packaged 2/19/2007) for taste comparison * Munchner Helles (packaged 8/11/2006) * The Professor Munchner Dunkel (packaged 1/2/2007) - Original beer cuisine made with and to match each of our long-maturation beers (served a la carte)
- Sumptuous all-you-want buffet of beer-inspired cuisine (1,000 yen per person) - Live acoustic Celtic music (1:00 - 5:00 pm)
- Yakitori grill outside in front of The Taproom -- 100 yen per stick (3:00 - 7:00 pm)
(3) Monday, July 16 (Fruit & Beer Festival) - The
following ten beers made with additions of real fruit will be featured (All 700 yen pints; 500 yen glass-size): * Asian Beauty Biwa Ale
(2007 debut) * Strawberry Field Milk Stout * Protruding Nail Citrus Porter
* Shizuoka Summer Mikan Ale * Saison Sayuri
* DaiDai Dark Wheat Ale * Temple Garden Yuzu Ale
* Yamanashi Apple Ale * The Carpenter's Mikan Ale
* Country Girl Kabocha Ale (a vegetable, not a fruit, but close enough)
- Original beer cuisine made with and to match each of our fruit beers (served a la carte) - Live DJ entertainment (1:00 - 5:00 pm)
Reservations are not required and there is no cover
charge. We do suggest that you look into spending the night in Numazu when you visit so as to maximize the joy of the experience. We relish the chance to celebrate The Taproom's birthday, and life
in general, with all of you who truly have made it worthwhile.
